As part of our Winter theme, we have been learning about animals and birds and how they keep warm in winter. 

We have been caring for our garden birds by making our own bird cake. We selected different ingredients such as meal worms, bird seed, bread crumbs, raisins, cheese, suet pellets, sunflower hearts and lard and made fir cone feeders and fat balls.

After attracting many birds to our feeders, we watched to see the different types of birds and recorded them on our checklists. This information was then shared with the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch.
